Angeles City Tour

Pick-up Location

DESCRIPTION:

We greet you at the airport, hotel or chosen location. From there we head to Kapampangan Museum (Clark Museum), which is located next to the former American parade grounds. This museum tells the history of Clark from 1901 to the modern day. It includes information and artifacts from the military, the eruption of Mt Pinatubo, and the local indigenous people. Admission also includes a short 4D documentary.

From here we drive past the parade grounds and past historic barn houses which housed former US soldiers and make short photographic stops at the monument of Colonel John Stotsenburg, President Manuel Roxas Marker, and the Old Kelly Theater.

We then go to the cultural and heritage park of Nayong Pilipino sa Clark. Here we experience the aboriginal culture, the influence of the Chinese and the effect of Spanish colonization. Our time here includes a cultural performance by the local people.

On our way back to Angeles city, we drop by the US Memorial Cemetery. After this, we have the opportunity for lunch at one of the malls, traditional restaurant, or another place of your choice.

After lunch, we visit the old town that grew into Angeles. We visit Bale Matua, an old Spanish mansion that is the oldest building in Angeles. Next we visit Pamintuan Mansion, which has a rich history that includes being the seat of the Philippine Republic, the headquarters for the first Philippine Army, a refuge for the republic’s first president, headquarters for General Arthur MacArthur and the location of the first independence day celebrations in 1899. The mansion is to be location of the new Philippine Museum of Social History.

We then visit the nearby Santo Rosario Church (Holy Rosary Parish Church), with its rich history of slavery, executions and occupation.

We end our tour at the Museo ning Angeles (Angeles Museum) and Center for Kapampangan Studies, which shows early settler artifacts and the transformation of the old town into modern day Angeles.

On Fridays, there is the option of visiting the Apu markets.
